Bedtime Reading

Tonight I went to turn out the lights in Emma's room and pray with her. When I walked in she said, "Mom, please let me finish this page!" I looked at the book she was reading and started giggling. She was reading "NIV Compact Bible Dictionary." Yes, my Emma loves to read the dictionary. I am sure it was an exciting read!

Lefsa

Every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas we make Lefsa. It is one of our favorite traditions. This year we made somewhere around 70 pieces of lefsa. It is lots of fun, but also lots of work. Phil was at work, so it was just me and the kiddos. Emma, Noah, and Gideon took turns helping roll out the dough and flip it on the lefsa grill. Thankfully Benaiah wasn't too interested and played in the other room. Hadassah played with him and took a nap. Noah got a little burn again. I guess he just has too much German in him! Here are some pictures. I was only able to get a few with my phone.

If you haven't seen the "Lefsa Video" Phil made a couple years ago, it is definitely worth your time. It is fun! Making Lefsa: A Norwegian Tutorial

Big Mess

The boys (well mostly Benaiah) thought that it would be fun to dump out all the toys and make a fort out of the containers. Let's see if they have as much fun picking it up!

I'm Back....

It has been a few months since I have posted anything on this blog. I finally changed that picture of the kids. It is has all five of them!! I am determined to start blogging more often. I have an idea to start a end of the day/week recap, so I don't forget all that happens each day. In a few years I know there will be so many things I wished I would have written down, so this can be the place for those things.

So here goes... The 2 big kids started a new art class today. Emma was sick so she had to stay home. Noah had a blast! He is taking the class with his best friend, Peter. Today he got to use a saw and a really big hot glue gun. He told me the glue sticks were "really big." He is working on building a Clone Droid. I am not sure what it is, just that it is something from Star Wars. Where is daddy when you need him?? He would know! Daddy is at the farm, helping with the construction of the Coteau des Prairies Lodge. Things are really coming along. You can check out their website for updates, www.cdplodge.com. Phil is in charge of it and does an amazing job! I have such a talented husband! More tomorrow....
